The list of airlines banned from EU
EC Regulation 2111/2005 regarding the establishment of a Community list of air carriers which are subject to an operating ban within the Community and on informing air transport passengers on the identity of air carrier , aims to give passengers the right to be informed about the identity of the carrier will operate the flight for which they have made a reservation and, in parallel, to strengthen the obligation on Member States to communicate information related to the security.

The companies considered unsafe are prohibited from flying their aircraft and are on a “blacklist” published and accessible to all. The list is published on the website of the European Union and the Official Journal. See the current list.

These rules apply to flights departing from an airport in the territory of a Member State to which the Treaty applies; departing from an airport in a third country to an airport situated on the territory of a Member State, if the contracting air carrier’s flight is a Community carrier, departing from an airport in a third country, if the flight is part of a transportation contract that was entered in the Community, and The journey began in the Community.

Passenger rights to information and repayment
So that travelers can choose a flight being well informed, they must be able to know at the time of booking, which carrier is operating the flight actually insured. The carrier with which the passenger enters into a contract of carriage (reservation) is required to inform the identity of the airline at the time of booking, and whatever the means used to make it. The passenger must also be kept informed of any change of carrier, recording or later during boarding.

Air transport is a key determinant of economic growth in France.

France occupies an important place in international trade. In 2006 France is the 4th largest exporter of services (around € 91Mds). According to UNCTAD estimates France is the third host of new foreign investment, behind the United States and the United Kingdom, but ahead of China (88.4 billion dollars). 40,000 direct jobs were created in 2006 by foreign firms in the country (source: Ministry of Foreign Trade and French Agency for International Investment).

These results were achieved by the implementation of policies to support open borders and the establishment of a strategy to prepare businesses to compete internationally and attract foreign companies. Air transport is an instrument of this strategy of economic development of France. The sector creates values, create jobs and economic hub.

All the economic activities carried out by airlines domiciled in France is almost 17 billion €, or about 1% of GDP. The overall economic impact of air transport is 4.25 times greater than its direct impact (source: IATA), and additional traffic to generate one million passengers in 4000 averaged direct or indirect jobs. (Source IFA). In an economy increasingly globalized, the transportation network is an indispensable asset of the national economy.

To increase its competitiveness France must lead an active strategy for air transport. The activities in this sector based in France create wealth and jobs, it is important to reinforce.

Air travel in France is a highly competitive industry that must be preserved, to boost the national economy, promote business development and territories meet the mobility needs of citizens.

The success of the motor car is probably based on a number of different factors but, one of the key factors is, without a doubt, the ability to travel pretty much where we want to and when we want to. Public transport quite simply cannot compete with this flexibility and for this reason; the car remains king for a huge proportion of both domestic and business travellers.

Despite this need or desire to have flexibility to travel at our own convenience over land, when businesses begin to consider air travel, they frequently accept that shared travel on fixed routes at predefined times is somehow OK. Everybody is aware that there is a very real alternative in private jet travel but often this is mistakenly dismissed as being too expensive to consider.

At Ocean Sky, we are a private jet operator that aims to make aircraft charter a very real option for your business to take ownership of your air travel needs. The benefits of aircraft charter are extensive, there is undoubtedly a sense of prestige surrounding such travel, but the very real benefits go far beyond this fairly superficial but nonetheless enjoyable feeling.

If you are travelling for business, what better than having an environment in which it is possible to work without distraction. The lack of extensive (and even invasive) security and queuing is a further tangible benefit, not only is further time saved, but stress levels are reduced. Planes can be chartered to travel the route that is convenient to your needs. Our planes operate between over 700 airports worldwide. It’s reasonable to expect a very high standard of service both inside the airports and much investment has been made to ensure that our aircraft adhere to very high safety standards. All round, you will receive a very high standard of business jet charter.

Nelson Mandela is unquestionably South Africa’s most beloved leader, and the country’s most internationally recognised person. He is a hero to all those who believe in human rights and racial equality, and he is an inspiration to people who still live under oppressive governments. In the city of Cape Town Nelson Mandela is also a major tourist attraction.

Notorious Prison

Of course, people do not come to Cape Town to actually see the great man himself. Mandela is in his nineties, and lives in quiet retirement. But they do go there to take the ferry boat out to Robben Island, site of the notorious prison that was Mandela’s home for 18 years. For many visitors, this trip is more like a pilgrimage. Robben Island is a bleak, windswept outcrop of sand and limestone, covering just twelve square kilometers. It was here that Mandela, having been sentenced to life imprisonment on a conviction of treason because of his opposition to apartheid, laboured in the limestone quarries with criminals and other political prisoners. Of the tiny cell in which he was kept, Mandela wrote in his autobiography, Long Walk to Freedom, “I could walk the length of my cell in three paces… When I lay down, I could feel the wall with my feet, and my head grazed the concrete at the other side.” Even in prison the rules of apartheid applied. Black prisoners were allowed less meat in their rations than Asian prisoners. Not one to let stone walls and iron bars imprison his spirit, Mandela, who was a lawyer, educated other inmates, and even some guards. He and his fellow prisoners often looked across the water at Table Mountain towering above Cape Town for inspiration.

A Shrine

To many of the visitors who come over from Cape Town, Mandela’s old cell is like a shrine. It has been left just as it was when he was finally taken out of it to be transferred to another prison. The door is kept locked, so visitors can only look in, but other cell doors are open for anyone who wants to step inside and get the experience of being in a claustrophobic cage. As you wander around the island and feel the cold wind that continually blows up from the Antarctic, you keep in mind that the prisoners were never allowed to wear anything but light clothing.

Marketing Mandela

Cape Town, and South Africa in general, have been actively marketing Mandela; not all of which activity meets with his personal approval. Gift shops in Cape Town sell a Presidential Collection of shirts; that is, shirts designed like the ones he wore during his presidency. A hot item for tourists returning to Cape Town from Robben Island are tee shirts emblazoned with “466/64″, Mandela’s prison number. In Nobel Square at the V&A Waterfront Complex, visitors can see a statue of Mandela, along with South Africa’s other Nobel Prize winners; Desmond Tutu, F.W. de Klerk, and Albert Luthuli.

For visitors who come to Shanghai for the first time, there is truly a plethora of surprises and fun. The city is prominent and unique as you can judge from its daily activities and the great scenic spots that are available to visitors. Lots of visitors who have traveled to Shanghai before are also amazed at the quality and value for money on offer in hotels in Shanghai as well as the food in the restaurants and tickets to get into tourist attractions. The following are some places of interests that worth visiting in Shanghai.

The First National Congress of the Communist Party site

This is definitely a great place that most people are unwilling to miss if they want to know more about China’s recent history and culture. The Party site has opened to the public for more than 50 years and has received a huge galaxy of tourists. From the essence the building sounds more like a museum. As a matter of fact, visitors can also find a wax model mock-up of a Party meeting presided by Chairman Mao, which demonstrates a remarkable roll of Chinese history.

Yu Yuan Gardens

There are a great number of classic simply elegant Chinese gardens in Shanghai as decorative urban landscape. Situated in the southwest of Shanghai near the well known waterfront walk of the Bund, Yu Yuan Gardens are the best choice to get relaxed and refreshed after a short walk along the river. With an enriching history of approximately 4 centuries dated back to the Ming Dynasty, it is amazing that Yu Yuan Gardens maintain the same brilliant look as before.

Toronto is the second to none choice if you are taking advantage of the long holiday and searching for a vacation that would be colorful and fun for the whole family. Briefly speaking, no other place beats Toronto with such a plethora of attractions including shopping, sightseeing, outdoor activities, etc. It would never disappoint you in terms of arranging a good vacation with you lovely kids.

Toronto’s CN Tower is something vital that you can not miss out on its unique beauty. Before 2008, it was ranked as the world’ tallest free standing structure. Though the fame does not belong to it any more, it is still the most notable thing to pay a visit to when you reach London.

The tower features a height of 1815 feet, and it is set with glass walled elevators, giving free access for visitors to admire the whole city. When you reach the Skypod that stands a height of 1466 feet, you can have a glamorous view of the wonderful Niagara Falls about 100 miles apart.

Apart from the spectacular CN Tower, you can also appreciate the vast views of the city from the Bloor Street Viaduct. While standing on the Bloor Street Viaduct, you might be amazed to find that the view of Toronto is quite different from that on the tower. Toronto resembles more of a lush green forest with high buildings and large mansions come in sight indistinctly.

Toronto is also an ideal place for sport fans as it is home to four major sports teams, including the Maple Leafs hockey team, the Raptors, the Blue Jays and the Argonauts.
